This
pretty gray filly
has
some
pedigree! Top and bottom is filled with the "black type" of horses with what it takes to be champions. Her heritage includes at least six crosses to Three Bars. Mix in some Azure Te and
Easy Jet, and close-up connections to Band of Azure and
First Down Dash, and you have a horse to look twice at.
Chickadown Azure,
si
88 (Chicka), by All American Futurity finalist
Easy
First Down and the first foal out of
Charlys Ragtime
Band, has a good mind, incredible disposition, lots of
muscle and good bone. She is gray,
like her sire, and with all she has going for her, Chicka could go any
direction -- and wherever she goes, she will get there fast!
Chicka
has a competitive
nature and she is smart. She wants to learn and she learns quickly. This
year she went to trainer Jim Hanson, in Pocatello, Idaho, where she put her
mind and body to work becoming a runner. In her second lifetime out, Chicka
showed her mettle and battled her way 330 yards to SECOND PLACE on Memorial Day at Pocatello Downs. She earned a
speed index of
88, a neck
behind Kipella For Cash (by Kipadeucy). She came out of the gates a bit late,
but the gray filly showed her grit and competitive spirit moving to the head of the field, only to be edged out by a faster filly
in the last few yards.
Chicka completed the race season
with three outs, a speed index of 88, and a record of 0-1-1. She showed a lot of heart, a
competitive spirit, and speed. On her last out (a race in which she
placed 3rd), Chicka chipped her knee. She came home, underwent very
successful surgery, and is now mended, sound, and ready to do whatever is
asked of her.
Chicka is MBNA Challenge Enrolled. She is eligible for Speedhorse Gold and Silver Cup Races, Silver Dollar, Rocky Mountain Classic, and
Bosen $15,000 Race Futurity.
She is offered for sale
at
$4,500.
SOLD.
Chicka has gone to a great place in Idaho Falls, ID.
She will either try running again next year -- or become a
broodmare.
