Her dam, A Lil Streakin Jewel, si 99, by Streakin Jewel, si 108, is stakes placed winner. From 10 starts at 2 and 3, she had a record of 2-3-1. She was 2nd in the Great Falls HRA Futurity. She is a very nice mare in build and disposition.

Second dam A Lil Cash, si 101 (by Better Judgement), is a 9-time winner with earnings of $15,227. She placed 2nd in the American-Canadian Derby and 2nd in the Charlie Russell Derby. She is dam of 3 foals, 2 to race, 2 winners, 2 ROM, both stakes placed.

Third dam Miss Pearly Bailey, si 91 (by Racing Champion Pacific Bailey) is a 2-time winner and dam of 8 foals, 4 to race, 3 winners, 3 ROM, 2 stakes placed. A Lil News's 4th dam, Miss Pearly Loot is dam of 8 foals, 5 to race, all winners, 5 ROM.

Rare News is a horse with lots of body, beauty and intelligence. This powerful, thick-boned horse was a multiple graded stakes performer at Los Alamitos. He had two wins and was three times 2nd. Rare News was a finalist in the Kindergarten Futurity-G1 (placed 5th), Governor's Cup Futurity-G1, and MBNA America California Challenge Championship-G2. Rare News was also a finalist in the PCQHRA Handicap and the San Diego Handicap. He earned $43,758 on the track. Rare News defeated the likes of many racing greats, such as 2005 Champion Aged Mare Mini Rock, si 102 ($439,979)!

His first foal crop are 2-year-olds of 2007.
